On the 21st of April we took a trip to Murlough beach with quite a crowd to support us! We collected 62kg of litter and had great fun at the same time!

On the 31st of March we took a trip to Cushandall beach and collected 15kg of rubbish! We hadn't planned this Project but were on a day out over Easter on the North Coast of Northern Ireland and stopped at the beach on the way home. We couldn't believe the amount of litter there. So we took a quick 20 minute out of our trip to clean up!

On the 24th of March we took another trip to Tyrella beach with a small group joining us! We collected around 40kg of rubbish and had a great time!

On Saturday the 10th of March we took our second trip to Tyrella Beach and to our delight we had 14 people join us. These people were from the Wildfoot group!
It was lashing rain and we all got soaked to our skins but collected a shocking 90 kg of litter!
​It was a great day and thanks to everyone who joined us!

On Sunday the 25th of February we attended a lecture with Doug Allan ( Wildlife photographer ) about his adventures in the Poles! It was very satisfying and his pictures and videos were amazing! ( Except the ones of the polar bears eating seals!) He said a lot on pollution and what could happen if we continue to pollute our Earth. After we joined the long line of people waiting to purchase his book Freeze Frame and get it signed! My mum had emailed him a bit and told him about Protect Our Pristine Seas! He gave me a free copy of his book and signed it! I gave him one of our t-shirts and he said he'd put it on  after and send me a picture! I feel very lucky to have met him and am very pleased that he supports my website and it's aims!

We decided to see how much plastic the average family produced in a week by collecting it in a large tub! Starting on Monday the 19th of February and finishing on Sunday the 25th of February we didn't put our plastic in the bin! On Sunday we emptied it out on our kitchen table to examine and we had  collected quite a lot!

We went on a trip to Murlough beach on Saturday the 24th of February.  We had a small crowd of people with us, 8 people (including us )! We collected 11 kg of litter and had great fun at the same time! 

Today my mum and I attended a lecture on ocean dilemmas where there was a group of people with ocean related careers speaking  about the resilience of the oceans.  The main thing I learnt was that, whilst plastic is a problem, the other major problem facing our oceans is global warming.  Global warming is caused by the emissions from cars and factories etc.  It was a ver interesting lecture as part of the Northern Ireland Science Festival.

We were very pleased to receive high visibility vests with our logo on them! (There is only enough for our crew so don't get you hopes up for getting a high visibility vest!) We were also delighted to hear that t-shirts for our crew had been ordered but we are still waiting for their arrival!
